We were so looking forward to good quality fish n chips while in Belfast. Unfortunately some places either open odd hours or not on Mondays. However, this place does ! We were so excited by the reviews we pre-ordered and got a taxi there and back to pick them up !. I had smoked Cod, and partner had haddock. It was definitely the best piece of fish I've ever had , outstanding. Chips fab too. You will be impressed 5 ⭐ from me . Keep it up guys

Omg what can I say. I really love this place .I've been a customer for a long time . Even though I'm live far away from it . I ordered the wrong munchies box with onion rings and pastie bites and the owner was nice enough to throw in two for me as I really love them . The staff are good craic and I always feel very welcome. It's very reasonably priced also

I definitely was not hungry anymore after viditing the hungry hound 2 - wow, these portions! But of course, it's not just size that matters - quality does too, and here you get both. Also, the fish was so tender and fresh but crispy on the outside, chips had loads of vinegar and salt on them, and the mushy peas worked perfectly with the dish. Would go back to Belfast just to visit this chipper again, absolute gem!

This place has been open for many years. Officially the Hungry Hound 2 as they had two locations on Ormeau road back in the day. A lot of places claim to be a 'proper' chippie but this place nails it. Fresh fish, chunky tasty chips, succulent burgers. The staff know what they're doing, they're fast and great craic. Lots of offers all over the place so take a look around the walls before picking something. Always have leaflets for the latest events to read while you wait. Fantastic

I remember getting a fish in Maggie's chippy in Walmer st in the early 60s. That was me hooked. Anywhere I go I always ask "who does the best fish?" Most of them are just ok. Others come and go. Last week I was walking up the Ormo and decided to give "The hungry hound " . a go. Well that fish was simply the best fish I have ever had in my life. Perfect in every way. Total perfection. Cooked perfect. The batter was sublime.the fish itself was fresh and gorgeous.what more can I say. A ten across the board.

The food comes in huge portions and was delivered quickly, though we did find the style of batter used to be less crispy than we prefer.
